Management and Board Members

Tobias S. Richter
Founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Tobias Richter is a passionate dental entrepreneur and founder of TRI® Dental Implants. Throughout his 20 years of experience in the dental industry, Tobias Richter has been fascinated by the technological possibilities for high-quality patient care in the dental growth market. He kicked off his career in 2001 with the market leader for dental implants STRAUMANN AG, launching new product innovations, - such as SLActive -, and eventually being responsible for the Marketing in the European Region. In 2007, Tobias Richter co-founded IMPLANT DIRECT Europe AG where he build up the European business in 25 markets until the global business was sold to THE Danaher Group. Besides the foundation and leadership of TRI® towards an innovative digital implant company, Tobias Richter is co-founder of the German dental clinic group DENTABENE, partner of the e-learning platform www.dental-campus.com and board member of the leading German dental lab groups DELABO.GROUP.
Sandro Venanzoni
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Sandro Venanzoni holds a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, Switzerland (ETHZ), where he graduated in 2008. From 2008 until 2013, Sandro Venanzoni held various positions with increasing responsibility within the Straumann Group. As a head of product management, he was instrumental to connect the various disciplines of digital dentistry. Since 2013, Sandro Venanzoni serves as Chief Technology Officer at TRI® Dental Implants. His passion is to create leading solutions in digital implant dentistry. He’s fascinated to innovate with strong teams and connect the various disciplines of digital dentistry to create better patient outcomes.
Marc Matthijs
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Marc Matthijs has several years of experience as Senior Financial Officer in globally listed companies such as Zimmer Biomet Inc. and The Dow Chemical Company. In his previous role as CFO Europe and VP Finance EMEA, he was employed by Zimmer Biomet Inc. for 12 years. Here he successfully integrated the Biomet EMEA business, strengthened the competitive position, managed the launch of the European Logistic Centre & Warehouse, consolidated the supply chain, and much more.
Dr. Valentin Chapero Rueda
Chairman
Valentin Chapero (born in 1956 in Madrid) is working as an investor/entrepreneur and enjoying his newly found freedom from the corporate treadmill. Valentin has been from 2002 until March 2011 CEO of Sonova Holding (Phonak), with CHF 1.6 billion the leader in the hearing health care device market. During Valentin`s tenure Sonova tripled its revenue, became the most profitable company in the industry and established the first integrated, multi-brand hearing health care business model composed of hearing instruments, consumer headphones, wireless communication systems, cochlear implants and a significant global direct-to-consumer retail operation. Before joining Phonak, Valentin was CEO of the Mobile Networks division of Siemens AG with a revenue of more than 5 billion Euro. Prior to this he was CEO of the Siemens Audiology Group, then the world’s largest hearing instrument manufacturer. Valentin graduated in Physics from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and completed his doctorate with a thesis on medical physics.
Dr. Michael Peetz
Member of the board
Dr. Michael Peetz held several positions at Geistlich Biomaterials between 1990 and 2008, since 1998 as CEO. He was responsible for developing Geistlich Biomaterials becoming No. 1 globally in bone and tissue regeneration in the field of dentistry. From the end of 2008 - 2012 he was CEO of Camlog Biotechnologies in Basel, an international leader in implant dentistry with a worldwide distribution network. Dr. Peetz was also co-founder and director of the Osteology Foundation, Lucerne, a foundation, which deals with research and education in regenerative dentistry. Since 2012 he is President of Digital Dental Life AG, which licensed their WEB technology for training of dentists to the Dental Campus Association and other specialized dental associations. Dr. Peetz is a co-owner and board member of ReOss GmbH, which develops and distributes individualized bone implants.
Thomas Huth
Member of the Board
Thomas Huth is representing a Swiss investment company in the board of TRI Dental Implants Int. AG. Subsequent to his studies in European business economics in Munich, Madrid and London he gathered first experience in the business development unit of a german-english Internet-Startup before becoming an entrepreneur himself in 2002. In the end of 2003 he founded together with two business partners usedSoft AG, a dealer for used Software, and supervised the units Finance, Administration and Organisation in his function as CFO until his exit in January 2011. Following his role as CFO he devoted himself to the field of Corporate Investment Management. He founded Venture Garage GmbH and is member of the board in several German and Swiss companies.
Manfred Ulmer-Weber
Member of the Board
Manfred Ulmer-Weber is representing SHS Gesellschaft für Beteiligungsmanagement mbH in the board of TRI Dental Implants Int. AG. He joined SHS in 2010 as investment manager, since 2012 he is senior investment manager. SHS manages funds with investment focus on medical technology. SHS is on the market for more than 20 years and has invested in about 50 companies and developed many of them successfully. Manfred Ulmer-Weber studied international business economics at Eberhard-Karls-Universität in Tübingen and at École de Management in Strasbourg.
Christian Müller
Member of the Board
After an initial stint as a marine biologist, Christian Müller has spent the past 16 years of his working live in the IT software and professional services space, over 10 of which as an entrepreneur. After exiting Assentis Technologies AG in 2013, a Swiss-based FinTech that provides leading Customer Communication Management (CCM) solutions, Christian founded Strenia Consulting GmbH, which specialises in helping organisations predominantly in the financial services industry to realise their strategies for providing digital services to their end-customers. In the past couple of years Christian's focus has continuously shifted to investing in and actively supporting mostly tech-based, impact orientated businesses. In addition, he is an active board member of the Mercator Foundation in Switzerland. Christian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Manchester and a Master’s in Information Technology from University College London.
