PROGRAM
Principles and Current Techniques for Predictable Bone Augmentation and Soft Tissue Graft

Horizontal and vertical bone augmentation as well as soft tissue grafts are often needed to facilitate an ideal anatomical and prosthetic position of implant placement and esthetic restoration. This presentation will discuss the foundation for achieving predictable bone augmentation: “PASS” principle (primary wound closure, angiogenesis, space and stability) and soft tissue grafting around dental implants. Decision trees with regards to socket, horizontal and vertical bone augmentation as well as soft tissue graft will be illustrated and rationales provided. Scientific evidence and clinical examples related to these clinical procedures will be demonstrated.

Rules of incision flap design suturing in the aesthetic zone

Implants in the aesthetic zone have proven to be very challenging. For this reason implant positioning has changed over time to improve aesthetic requirements. Flap design and suturing has changed for better results. The hands on component will give participants the opportunity to exercise different flap designs in the aesthetic zone for use with guided bone regeneration to to give better quality and quantity of soft tissue. Special instruments have been designed to manipulate soft tissue for different biotypes and each participant will have the opportunity to practice using these instruments in the aesthetic zone to improve the soft tissue architecture during grafting procedures.
